Partner Visa

The Australian Partner Visa is designed for individuals who are in a genuine and committed relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. This visa allows partners to live, work, and study in Australia with their Australian partner.

There are two main categories of the Australian Partner Visa:

Temporary Partner Visa (subclass 820/801):

This visa is initially granted on a temporary basis, allowing the applicant to stay in Australia with their partner.
After a designated period of time, typically two years, the applicant becomes eligible to apply for the Permanent Partner Visa (subclass 801).
To be eligible for the temporary visa, the applicant must be in a genuine and ongoing relationship with their Australian partner.

Permanent Partner Visa (subclass 801/100):

This visa is the permanent stage of the Australian Partner Visa.
It can be applied for directly if the applicant has been in a long-term relationship with their Australian partner for at least three years, or two years if they have children together.
The permanent visa allows the applicant to continue living in Australia indefinitely and provides access to various social security benefits.
Key Requirements for the Australian Partner Visa:

Genuine Relationship: Applicants must demonstrate that their relationship with their Australian partner is genuine and ongoing, providing evidence of their commitment and shared life together.
Sponsorship: The Australian partner must act as the sponsor and meet certain requirements to support the visa application.
Character and Health Checks: Applicants must meet character and health requirements to be eligible for the visa.
Evidence: Comprehensive documentation is essential to demonstrate the authenticity of the relationship, including joint financial commitments, shared household responsibilities, and social ties.
